Cafeteria
La Salle's cafeteria provides excellent, healthy, and affordable on-site options for students to purchase snacks and/or lunch on a daily basis. The cafeteria is open before school, at break, and during lunch.
La Salle's food options exceed the standards of Oregon House bill 2650 addressing the percentage of fats from total calories, sugar content and serving size. Vending machines in the school no longer include soda, but a selection of water, fruit juice and healthy snack options. The nutritional offerings to students is a part of a more comprenhensive health initiative at La Salle, that included a ’get movin’ walking program professional staff participated in, encouraging daily water intake, and balanced life styles., From the lunch tray to the vending machine, La Salle has made intentional institutional decisions to model healthy lifestyle choices to our students.
La Salle's cafeteria is led by BJ Dripps, Cafeteria Supervisor. Other cafeteria staff members are Pamela Matteson, Kim McCarthy, and Becky Tetherow. The cafeteria relies on volunteers to sell lunches on a daily basis. If you are interested in volunteering, contact BJ Dripps at bdripps@lshigh.org or you can call the cafeteria's main line at 503.353.1427.
